DURING THE EXAM
Dr. Tom’s Exam Day Companion is a result of my years of experience with the ME PE Exam, and contains the most vital information you will need when taking the Exam. The Exam Day Companion is designed to be the first place you look during the exam for information to quickly find the appropriate equations for a particular problem. There is a chapter for each of the main subjects on Common AM Exam and the Mechanical Systems and Thermal/Fluids PM Exams, and an index for quick access to the material you need.
Please note that the Exam Day Companion does not replace the MERM. The Exam Day Companion is intended to be the first place you should look when solving a problem. If what you need is not in the Exam Day Companion, then the next place to look is in the MERM, then other references you may have acquired.
DURING YOUR PREPARATION FOR THE EXAM
The Exam Day Companion is best used for exam preparation while working problems in conjunction with in my 20-Week ME PE Review Course, but you can also use it when working problems on your own from the NCEES Sample Exam, the MERM or the Six Minute Solutions books. Using the Exam Day Companion as your first reference while working these problems will build your confidence and skills at problem recognition, which is critical to being successful on the exam.
