“I’ve been out of school for 5 years now, and I feel like I didn’t have a very good grasp of the material I would need to master in order to take the TFS PE exam. While looking for classes to sign up for, I came across Dr. Tom’s Classroom and saw a number of good reviews praising the course for its ability to teach the material in a simple yet effective manner, and that’s when I decided to sign up for the DTC 20-Week Thermal and Fluids course.

Once I jumped into the course, I knew I had made the right choice. Dr. Tom presents the material in a logical order so it feels like the topics in the early weeks would be the building blocks for the topics that are covered in the later weeks. With this course structure, I definitely noticed that I was getting better at understanding the topics and solving the practice problems as time went on.

After I finished all of the lessons, I made sure to practice as many of Dr Tom’s problems as possible in order to master the DTC method as well as being able to effectively use the NCEES Reference Handbook. In the 6 weeks I had leading up to the exam, I took both final practice exams 3 times each, as well as going through all of the problems/5-week exams/assessment quizzes an additional time. I even went through the problems in the NCEES practice exam 2 more times to help solidify everything I had learned in this course.

On exam day, I felt prepared because I was confident in my ability to employ the DTC method as well as being able to quickly find items in the Reference Handbook. The exam was tough, and there were a number of problems that caught me off guard, but I stuck to my plan and made sure to skip the tough problems in favor of solving familiar problems first. With this method, I was able to provide an answer for every problem in the exam and I even had some time to spare so I could check my work.

I am happy to say that I passed the Thermal and Fluids PE exam on my first try! And I have Dr. Tom’s Classroom to thank for that. This course provided me all of the information and skills I needed in order to pass the test. If you are planning on taking the Thermal and Fluids CBT exam, I definitely recommend Dr. Tom’s Classroom because the DTC method does indeed work! Thanks again for everything that went into helping me prepare for the PE exam!”
