Designing and building the Brooklyn Bridge was anything but easy. The death of the lead engineer (and near-death of a second), foundation challenges, a mysterious illness, and the challenge of designing the tallest structures in the western hemisphere. The project was over budget and behind schedule, but over 100 years later, it’s still standing.
