The astronomical clock in Prague is the oldest still in operation (first installed in 1410). The impressive clock has three main mechanical components — the astronomical dial, the calendar dial, and an hourly display of figures and sculptures. The astronomical portion shows the position of the Sun and Moon and the calendar dial shows the months of the year. The hourly display of figures and sculptures is known as “The Walk of the Apostles” – including a skeleton representing Death that strikes the time. I was able to capture this mechanical wonder on video.
