With the conversion of the Mechanical PE Exam to the CBT format, NCEES released new PE Mechanical Practice Exams. As long as there NCEES has had these practice exams, there have always been problems that have caused confusion for participants in my PE Exam Reviews, and this new one is no exception. It can be a confusing problem statement or a solution that skips some vital steps or doesn’t match up with the givens. In fact, this new Practice Exam has many of the same tricky problems we’ve seen before.

For my new CBT reviews, I have created a number of videos for these troublesome NCEES problems in which I offer my tips for solving these problems. Now I’m happy to share a selection of these videos with you for free online.

You can find these videos on our Free Mechanical Videos Page or on the DTC YouTube Channel. I hope you will find them helpful. – Dr. Tom

“I passed the exam on my first try taking the PE, and I do not believe I would have passed without the help this course provided. Dr Tom’s help in identifying errors in NCEES solutions was very helpful and I would have been ill prepared studying on my own. Your course was tremendously helpful and I have already begun recommending it to friends and colleagues gearing up to take the PE. Just wanted to give a sincere thank you for conducting this course for the Machine Design PE exam.” – Patrick Cable, PE
