The Amber Fort (also known as the Amer Fort and/or Amer/Amber Palace) is surrounded by one of the longest walls in the world and is located near the City of Jaipur, India – the capital of the state of Rajasthan. The traditional way to access the Fort is riding an elephant up the hill to the main entrance – which only operate in the morning and are limited to two passengers per trip. After they finish their trips at the Fort, they return to their area for care which they access by walking down the road. This creates an opportunity to witness an interesting juxtaposition of ancient and modern transportation power including passenger vehicles, tuk tuks (3-wheeled motorized rickshaws), motorcycles, scooters, buses, tractors, and pedestrians. – Daniel Findley, DTC Engineering Economics Instructor
